Hooray!!!
Today, I took my last exam so I am officially completed with my junior (1st) year here at Duke Div. I have to say, graduate school has been a trip. For those of you who are thinking about graduate school, here is what you should expect: reading, writing tons of paper, reading, spending a lot of time in the library researching, and oh yeah, reading. Also, expect to have many moments of feeling totally overwhelmed because of the work load. There have been many times that I just felt like giving up. But from now on whenever I have the thought that I should just quit, I’ll just need to remember to push through. There is light on the other side:)
All that to say, I think and feel more than ever that I am where I’m supposed to be. I get to read and study the Bible. I get to hear insightful lectures from brilliant professors who care about the church but also care about developing sharp minds. I am surrounded by men and women who plan to serve the church with their life. Honestly, I think that has probably been the highlight of being here. The relationships that we have been able to develop here have been very special to us. I think this is the thing that we will take when we leave Durham: our relationships. I’ve told many of my friends here already that 10 years down the road, no matter where Mykou and I are living, I’m expecting a phone call and a visit. If they don’t call, then we’ll do it!
